It’s a Wonderful Life (1946, U)
Doors open 2:30pm, film starts 3pm
Our matinee on Friday 14th December is an extra-inclusive ‘Relaxed Screening’. People are welcome to make noise and come & go as they please. All welcome, especially those with dementia, autism and babes-in-arms. There will be hot & cold drinks, mince pies and popcorn.
Seating is in the main hall as well as the balcony. Reservations for wheelchair spaces or other special seating requirements aren’t necessary, but can be made by emailing email@example.com or messaging us on Facebook @NewDotCinema. Please contact us to ask any questions or arrange a site visit.
Some of our adjustments:
- Low lighting left on during the film
- 15 minute interval
- No trailers, no adverts
- Extreme & sudden noises muted.
- Earplugs available
- Clearly identifiable volunteers with Dementia Friends awareness training
- Clear, simple, bilingual, dementia-friendly signage
- No excess visual clutter & signage
- No music in foyer
- Waiting chairs in foyer
- Welcomers in foyer to advise on parking & escort people to waiting seats.
The cinema is on the first floor of the Town Hall, which has lift access. The lift door measures 77cm wide and the lift chamber is 140cm deep. We also offer balcony seating which unfortunately is not served by a lift. We will have plenty of mainfloor seating near tables and in rows. Disabled toilet facilities are available close to the main hall.
There is a drop-off area by the main town hall door and the nearest car park is a ‘pay and display’ just round the corner on East Street / Parade Street (one way system), which is free after 3pm during December 2018.
Supporting local charities
We’re not charging an entry fee to this screening, instead we’re asking that if people are able, they consider bringing a Christmas gift for one of two local charities: Welsh Women’s Aid Wrexham or Llangollen Community Christmas Lunch, more details here.
